Our mission is to help children cope through their hospital experiences.
We provide play therapy kits to help you and your loved ones unpack the happiness.
Hospital stays are not pleasant experiences for anybody. Anxiety about the outcome, a lack of understanding about the medical procedures, the sterile and unfamiliar environment; all of that is upsetting for us, even as adults.
The experience is equally, if not more, distressing for children.
Considerable research has been completed around the psychological and emotional effect of hospitalisation on children. For children, it can be incredibly difficult to understand why they’re away from home, surrounded by faces they do not recognise, all while having strange procedures performed on them. This leads to anxiety, uncertainty and feelings of helplessness. This in turn can interfere with a child’s efficacy in coping with treatment and increase uncooperative behaviour and attitudes towards medical staff.
This is why play therapy during hospitalisation is critical for children. Play therapy has been regarded as a crucial element that helps children cope with the discomfort of hospitalisation.
